Snoop Dogg’s pretty laid back, got his mind on NFTs And NFTs on his mind as he joins The Sandbox NFT metaverse to build his real-life mansion
Iconic pillar of the hip-hop world, Snoop Dogg, is jumping onto the blockchain and diving deep into NFTs. Last week the rapper announced his new partnership with NFT metaverse game The Sandbox.
Snoop Dogg NFT plans
The world-famous entertainer plans to join the Ethereum-based metaverse game as he rebuilds his real-life LA mansion. But this mansion isn’t just for show, as Snoop Dogg also plans to hold in-verse concerts in his new meta-home.
Snoop Dogg is not stopping there either. Snoop Dogg plans to launch his own NFT 3D avatar collection as well. The collection will include more than just avatars of The Doggfather. The NFT collection will also include recreations of his cars, dogs, memorabilia, and other items. Players in The Sandbox will be able to make their own games using these items.
It seems though that Snoop Dogg is not going at this alone. His new partners, The Sandbox, are jumping on the Dogg-wagon. The Sandbox plans to hold an in-game land sale on September 30. This sale gives fans the opportunity to buy LANDS right next to Snoop Dogg’s property, thus becoming his new meta-neighbors.
“The idea of having hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg as your next-door neighbor in The Sandbox metaverse is mind-blowing – and being able to have a unique Snoop NFT as your in-game avatar is even cooler,” noted Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox.
Snoop Dogg private party pass NFT
Another perk of the NFT collection Snoop Dogg is launching will be the limited edition ‘Snoop Dogg Private Party Pass’. The plan is to mint only 1000 of these exclusive NFTs, with an interesting plan for distribution. In short, of the 1,000, only 650 are available for purchase, while another 212 NFTs plan to be prizes for those who bought LAND NFTs next to Snoop’s. The rest will go to fans through airdropping, with some already being given away.
“I’m always on the lookout for new ways of connecting with fans and what we’ve created in The Sandbox is the future of virtual hangouts, NFT drops and exclusive concerts… We’ll have a fresh set of Dogg style NFTs that players can integrate into the game experiences to take this online experience to the next level for sure.”Snoop Dogg said in a press release
Holders of the Private Party Pass NFTs will receive VIP access to events, concerts, Q&As, other NFT drops, and more.
The Sandbox is a leading decentralized virtual gaming world. Their NFT metaverse game is basically a Minecraft-styla game. Although this metaverse is one that revolves around and includes cryptocurrency and NFTs. Imagine a Minecraft game where players can create, share and sell NFTs, all in game. With this new partnership with Snoop Dogg, it seems The Sandbox is trying to expand beyond the gaming experiences they offer.
“We are building the future of entertainment where everyone will enjoy creating and sharing their very own virtual experiences… The Sandbox is bringing iconic culture with Snoop Dogg and enhancing it through innovation with NFTs and virtual experiences. Snoop’s LAND is decentralized; 100% owned by him to develop through his creative genius. I can’t wait to join his first private party in The Sandbox!”Arthur Madrid The Sandbox’s CEO and co-founder
The Real-life house
Snoop Dogg’s real house, located in the east side of Los Angeles, resides within the gated community of Country Estate. Reports say he bought the mansion for $720,000 in 1998 and still lives there. The property is about 2.8 hectares, though it is unclear how or how much of this Mr. Dogg plans to rebuild in the game.
Other Snoop Dogg NFT news
Last week Snoop Dogg doxxed himself and the NFT Whale @CozomoMedici.
The pseudonym crypto personality, Cozomo de’ Medici, has a very impressive NFT collection. This collection is reported to be worth over $17 million and includes blue-chip Ethereum NFTs as well as a number of CryptoPunks. One of the Punks is worth over $4.5 million as well, though that price is sure to go up after this announcement.
While the excitement of someone as Iconic as Snoop Dogg being a major NFT player is electrifying, others are not as sure. Reporters for both Slate and Vice have cast their doubts on Cozomo’s identity reveal. While their evidence or reasoning is not as rock-solid as some would hope for, a little doubt can be healthy.
